Disable SELinux or Security Linux on Centos 6.3

SELinux is enabled by default, it will be security some services, and we will have some problems when access to CentOS Server.

This Guide will help you how to disable SELinux or Security Linux on Centos 6.3.

Default SELinux Configuration

[root@Centos6 ~]# cat /etc/selinux/config# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
# SELINUX= can take one of these three values:
# enforcing – SELinux security policy is enforced.
# permissive – SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
# disabled – No SELinux policy is loaded.
SELINUX=enforcing
# SELINUXTYPE= can take one of these two values:
# targeted – Targeted processes are protected,
# mls – Multi Level Security protection.
SELINUXTYPE=targeted
[root@Centos6 ~]#

Or

[root@Centos6 ~]# sestatus
SELinux status: enabled
SELinuxfs mount: /selinux
Current mode: enforcing
Mode from config file: disabled
Policy version: 24
Policy from config file: targeted
[root@Centos6 ~]#

So we need disable that by

[root@Centos6 ~]# vi /etc/selinux/config# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
# SELINUX= can take one of these three values:
# enforcing – SELinux security policy is enforced.
# permissive – SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
# disabled – No SELinux policy is loaded.
SELINUX=disabled
# SELINUXTYPE= can take one of these two values:
# targeted – Targeted processes are protected,
# mls – Multi Level Security protection.
SELINUXTYPE=targeted

Reboot the server and SELinux will be disabled.

[root@Centos6 ~]# init 6
[root@Centos6 ~]#
login as: root
root@192.168.0.112’s password:
Last login: Wed Dec 5 01:09:22 2012 from 192.168.0.105
[root@Centos6 ~]# sestatus
SELinux status: disabled
[root@Centos6 ~]#

That’s all. Thanks for using IThelpblog.com
