Howto mount CDROM disc on Centos 6.3

1. Create directory for cdrom

[root@localhost /]# mkdir /mnt/cdrom

2. Mount CDROM to our Server

[root@localhost /]# mount /dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrom
mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
[root@localhost /]#

3. Check disk usage on Centos with CDROM

[root@localhost /]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 13G 2.6G 9.4G 22% /
tmpfs 495M 276K 495M 1% /dev/shm
/dev/sda1 291M 33M 244M 12% /boot
/dev/sr0 4.0G 4.0G 0 100% /mnt/cdrom
[root@localhost /]#

4. Check CDROM directory after mouting

[root@localhost /]# cd /mnt/cdrom/
[root@localhost cdrom]# ls
CentOS_BuildTag isolinux RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-Debug-6
EFI Packages RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-Security-6
EULA RELEASE-NOTES-en-US.html RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-Testing-6
GPL repodata TRANS.TBL
images RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-6
[root@localhost cdrom]#

    On CentOS 6.4 x86_64

    # mount /dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrom
    mount: you must specify the filesystem type
