Install EPEL Repository on CentOS 6.3 x86_64 or RedHat 6.3

1. Download and import GPG key

[root@localhost ~]# wget http://ftp.riken.jp/Linux/fedora/epel/RPM-GPG-KEY-EPEL-6

2. Download epel software

NOTE: Go to http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/ to download newest version for epel-release package, if you can not use these commands

[root@localhost ~]# wget http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm
–2012-12-10 19:01:17– http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm

3. Install epel on Centos

[root@localhost ~]# rpm -ivh epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm

[root@localhost ~]#

4. Test install software by EPEL

[root@localhost ~]# yum –enablerepo=epel install php-pdo -y
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit, security
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* base: mirror.neu.edu.cn
* epel: ftp.jaist.ac.jp
* extras: centos-hcm.viettelidc.com.vn
