Howto install epel repository on Amazon EC2 instance

EC2 Ubuntu 10

On Amazon EC2 , you can install epel on Amazon EC2 which running Centos, Redhat or Amazon Linux.

For Centos 7 or RHEL 7 64bit, you can use this

sudo wget http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/x86_64/e/epel-release-7-5.noarch.rpm

sudo rpm –ivh epel-release-7-5.noarch.rpm

For Centos 6 or RHEL 6 64bit, you can use this

sudo wget http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm

sudo rpm –ivh epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm

For Amazon Linux, by default Epel installed on that so we don’t need to do that.

Use epel to install a package

sudo yum –-enablerepo=epel install nagios
